Gas Recovery Facility Ribbon Cutting Celebration
The South Platte Water Renewal Partners (SPWRP) facility is set to unveil Colorado’s very first Gas Recovery Facility and Pipeline Injection Project. This project will be used exclusively by SPWRP to inject the natural gas recovered from its wastewater treatment process, into Xcel Energy’s natural gas pipeline.
SPWRP, has worked closely with Xcel Energy, Carrollo Engineers, J.R. Filanc Construction Company and Bluesource to produce this gas recovery facility that will reduce the local carbon footprint by 5,000 metric tons of CO2 per year, which is enough to drive 13.5 million miles in a single car.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the SPWRP facility. The presentation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a complimentary breakfast at 10:30 a.m.
The ceremony is open to the public and other agencies interested in the project. To RSVP to the event, please contact Deb Parker at (303) 762.2638 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Guests are asked to park in the front parking lot during the event.
“The Pipeline Injection Project is a unique approach in innovation that will benefit the environment, our customers, and our facility. We are beyond excited to share this pioneering accomplishment with our communities,” said SPWRP Director, Pieter Van Ry.
